The one shortcoming of the epoxy method was bubble formation. I can confirm that a hair dryer doesn’t produce enough heat to pop these. The next time I do this, I’ll try using a propane or oxy-acetylene torch instead. Still, the surface is flat (which is what I wanted) +/- the bubble height.
