This broad-billed hummingbird (cynanthus latirostris) somehow reached the garden of Sherri Howe and decided to stay awhile in the paradise for birds that she had crafted. Sherri’s theory that a series of hurricanes in Mexico may have sent this jewel our way is the best explanation I have heard for why a member of a species rarely seen in the U.S. outside of Arizona reached the SF Bay Area.
Thank you, Sherri!
