Quite obviously, this is the back of the shield. Utilizing some chrome spray-paint I aquired a while ago, I gave this back a good hose down before I applied the trimming. The handle is again some scrap wood I found in the back that I jigsawed and then shaped with a file and sandpaper. Contrastly to this tedious task, the arm brace is composed of a canvas belt and what I do believe are plumbing pipe clamps- things they use to hold pipes to walls and stuff. This simple solution actually works to its advantage as I can loosen the arm brace and use it as a back strap to sling over my shoulder- not quite how I think Link does it (which, to be honest, I have no idea how he does it), but still close enough to be satisfactory.
And yes, I know this shield is designed to be worn on the left arm while traditionally Link was left handed and thus wore it on his right arm, but whatever, I’ma gonna wear it on my left arm because it’s easier than trying to reassign my dominant hand.
