We had a productive meetup at Tam Makers on July 20, 2016, in our new makerspace at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley.
At 6pm, we hosted tours and demos of recent work by community members. At 7pm, we gave an update on Tam Makers and our fall courses for adults and youth. We then discussed ideas for memberships and new programs.
Participants included experienced artists, builders and makers — as well as people new to those crafts. Most people seemed interested in joining Tam Makers and using the makerspace. They also liked the mix of classes, ranging from maker art to technology and woodworking. Many offered to volunteer as well.
We’re really happy that our first community meetups went so well and that so many folks want to participate actively. We look forward to collaborating with our new maker friends very soon!
