Just back from Gran Canaria.
Double wooden doors opened directly from our bedroom on to the patio and this view beyond … every morning!
Only 10 minutes away from Roque Nublo (one of the highest points on the island) and 1hr 15 minutes down unbelievable switcbacks to the nearest coast, this was a little more out of the way than we had realized. it was close to the perfect getaway in hikers’ heaven … Close because the beds were creaky and there wasn’t a comfortable chair in any of the rooms.
Still, private pool, covered and tiled barbecue area, local hamlet where you are awoken by gunshots as local men hunt birds with a dog, 6 km from nearest shop or restaurant … and those walks …
